Characteristics of Revell paints
Available formulas
Revell offers two types of paint.
Acrylic paints (Revell Aqua Color):
- Water-based, ideal for easy application and clean-up.
- They have little or no odor.
- Fast drying time (touch-dry in about 1 hour, completely dry in 4 hours).
- Available in matte, gloss, satin and metallic finishes.
Enamel paints (Revell Email Color):
- Chemical solvent-based paints offering a durable, resistant finish.
- Ideal for fine details and complex surfaces.
- Slower to dry (up to 24 hours for complete drying).
These paints require specific thinners for application and cleaning.
Packaging
Revell paints are sold in small metal pots (14 ml for enamel paints) or plastic pots (for acrylic paints), ideal for model building.
Varied colors
Revell offers a wide range of colors, often referenced by number for optimum precision. The colors are designed to match model-building standards, particularly those of the military (RAL…).
